Dear NYSSA Members,
Whoever said the things slow down during the holiday season probably have never dealt with NYSSA before. How are you all doing?
There are so many things that I can bring up in this newsletter but I have a very important announcement to make:
We have an annual election coming up for the four director-at-large seats that will be vacated due to the existing directors serving to their term. Those of you who would like to participate in the election but are not yet a NYSSA member*, please keep in mind that December 15, 2016, is this year’s record date. You can become a member through this page. You can find out who is running from this page. The proxy will be emailed to you following the record date if you are eligible. If you encounter any issues becoming a member, or have any questions at all, email membership at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is reading the online biography not enough to get to know the candidates? We have that taken care of. Come to meet all the candidates up close and personal on January 5, 2017, after work. A week after that, January 12, we have an Annual Meeting where we will be electing the new directors, followed by the 80th year kick-off party. Anyone care to join me in celebration?
And this is just the beginning. We already have a number of events lined up for 2017, including the October 3 annual dinner (come to meet Paul Smith, everyone) and this year has not even concluded yet. Check out our upcoming event schedule. I can’t contain my excitement for the organization and I hope you can all feel even just a tiny bit of it.
A couple of things:
Some of you may have noticed that every event began to get a post-event writeup, coupled with photos and recording**. During Q1 2017, we will be providing livestreaming for all events*** to all NYSSA members, absolutely free, as part of our latest promotion.
Last but not least. We just welcomed 1370 new charterholders into our natural society area. Congratulations to you all. We managed to celebrate this amazing achievement with 200+ plus new charterholders at NYSSA on December 8, with a number of thought leadership group leaders and board members also present. Click here to view the past events.
* You have to be a CFA charterholder or Regular Member of CFA Institute and Member of NYSSA to be eligible
** Event recordings are only available to members and event attendees for free
*** Where chatham house rules apply, this is not available
